Race car birthday party decoration ideas
A race car birthday is a perfect theme for your little one who loves all things that go. And there are so many fun ways to decorate. Include race car decorations that can be used for party favors or home decor later on.
We wanted to share some of our favorite ways to bring this themed party to life. PS — each item has a link you can shop the party items and supplies!
TIRE YO-YOS
Scatter tire shaped yo-yos around each table. A decoration and a party favor in one. The kids will love them.
CAR LETTERS
Grab wooden letters to spell car or the birthday boy or girl’s name. Paint yourself or buy pre-painted. Plan ahead and coordinate colors to reuse in your child’s room after the party.
THEMED CAKE POPS
Get creative with cake pops and candy melts. Pipe your child’s age on wax paper. Make a car with half of a candy melt and sprinkles for the wheels. Then “glue” on the details with melted candy. Learn the basics of making cake pops here.
BUILD A ROAD
This decoration is super easy but looks great. Use a roll of black chalkboard paper (or any roll of black paper). Draw yellow stripes with chalk markers or use tape. Attach to wall or tables. Voila!
CHECKERED TAPE
Checkered duck tape will make simple utensil holders or cake pop containers so festive. A super inexpensive but way to decorate. And the creative ways to use this decoration are endless.
CAR CANDY DISHES
Fill these car-shaped candy dishes with your child’s favorite candy. Or candy in the party theme colors. Visit your favorite online or local candy shop and load up.
COLORFUL LAYERED M&MS
Use small glass containers and fill them with layers of M&Ms in your party colors. Want to get a little crazy? Visit the M&M store to add fun messages and pictures to your M&Ms.
TOY CARS
Place toy cars on each table. We love that this decoration (like the yo-yos) can also be a party favor for the kids to take home. Hand out as guests leave. If they haven’t already been scooped up!
CHECKERED FLAGS
Use different-sized checkered flags to decorate. Small plastic flags can be used in cake pops or hors d’oeuvres. Larger checkered flags are perfect to add to centerpieces.
